One to One - (Two Day) The Art of Navigation - Berkhamstead, Herts

This bespoke two day experience will take the art of navigation and bring it back to basics, doing away with the daunting amounts of info. Day one will consist of our most popular Navigation Workshop where we’ll cover theory, map signs and symbols, natural navigation, contours, choosing routes and how to take and walk on a compass bearing. Distance to walk 8 miles.

Day Two will be a longer distance (12/13 miles) where the attendee takes on a much more independent role with what they have learnt and with way-marked points lead the day until the finish. This is a fun and challenging day which fosters leadership, confidence and independence with your new navigation skills.

This workshop is perfect for those looking for more independence on their hikes, taking on a long distance trail or expedition.

• Map and Compass provided

• Beginners or advanced welcome (individuals / groups)

• Understand the map, signs and symbols.

• Features of a compass, learn how to take & walk on a compass bearing

• How to understand contours, what they mean and how to use them.

• How to foresee & navigate around obstacles and challenges that we encounter. Also timing & pacing to a location

• Days do not have to be side by side and can be split up to suit schedule

• Both workshops start and finish in Berkhamstead, Herts

• Day 1 start: 10am - finish 3:30pm // Day 2 start: 9am - finish 4pm
