Just 45 minutes from central London, experience the Chiltern Hills’ most scenic walk as we step onto the Ridgeway National Trail, one of Britain’s oldest pathways. This 12-mile guided day hike takes you through rolling landscapes, ancient woodlands, and along stunning chalk ridges that have inspired travelers for centuries.
Our route begins in the picturesque village of Great Missenden and ends in Wendover, offering a perfect mix of nature, history, and countryside charm. Along the way, we’ll pass quaint villages, serene valleys, and historic landmarks, including Chequers, the country residence of the Prime Minister.
This is the perfect countryside escape for walkers looking for hiking near London by train. After completing the route, we’ll return by train from Wendover to Great Missenden (just one stop – 10 minutes).

Difficulty level: Challenging / Hilly - Walk will be paced at 5km per hour. We please ask that if you’d like to attend you are familiar with this pace.
What do i need to bring: Lunch, snacks, water and suitable outdoor clothing and hiking shoes/boots suitable for forest and hill conditions. Trekking poles advised, not mandatory.
For safety reasons, we do not accept those attending in DM boots or fashion boots, shoes. Hiking footwear only.
